Zwentendorf (Austria) is the world’s only nuclear power plant to have been completed but never put into operation due to the outcome of a national referendum in 1978 with a difference of just 30,000 votes.
Besides opening the power plant up for visitors who can take guided tours, Zwentendorf is now used for training porpuses and generating solar power.
